Parents,
Language Arts: This week students took a Benchmark test that covered skills learned in the first quarter. You should be getting them soon. There is no overall grade on this assessment, as it covers 12 different standards in reading and language, and each is recorded separately for our new ALL standards based grade cards. Please look through this assessment with your child. I used this assessment, as well as other data collected throughout the quarter to determine your child's understanding of our learned concepts.
Social Studies. Students did very well on their Government tests today! Next we will be beginning our Economics unit. This will start with discussion about incomes, expenses, budgets and savings.
- Today is the end of the quarter, grade cards will be sent home next Wednesday.
- Red Ribbon Week: Tomorrow is fruit day! Wear the color of your favorite fruit, and pack a fruit snack for a Dojo point.
- Fact packets (for students who have not mastered addition or subtraction) are due Friday.
- Nature's Nursery donations due by Oct. 30th
- Music program TOMORROW at 9 am and 7 pm. Students should report to classrooms between 6:30-6:45 pm tomorrow night.
