Team Mindcrafters Weekly Update 2-20-18

ELA - Last week we finished up unit 3. This week we are taking a break from the series to do a biography project, however there is still a spelling list this week. We are doing the list for Unit 4, Week 1. We will skip that story next week and instead read it when we begin our Government unit in social studies.

Team Mindcrafters Weekly Update

Valentine's Party.  This Wednesday, February 14, we will have our Spring Party (AKA - Valentine's Party) in the afternoon. Students are welcome to bring Valentines to pass out, and a decorated box to collect Valentines, if they wish.  There will be a "creative" box contest for anyone who participates.  Bags will be provided for students who don't have a box.

Party donations.  Mrs. Dressel's homeroom still has donation slots still to fill. Please sign-up at the link below if you'd like to help out

Science Test.  Your child will have a Science test over Ch. 4 (Ecosystems and Fossils) on Friday.  A practice test can be completed on Moodle as many times as necessary to prepare.  (Originally, students wrote down on their homework sheet that the test would be Thursday, but since we had a blood drive presentation during Science today, we had to move it back a day.)

Blood drive.  Forms for our school blood drive on Tuesday March 6  should be coming home today.  Signup at www.redcrossblood.org and enter the code:WHITEHOUSEELEM to register to donate.

A few items

Due to the weather cancellations over the last couple of weeks, I will be cancelling the Breakfast Buddy reading with Mr. Pransky's homeroom on Monday, so that we can catch up in social studies and science.

Also due to the weather, I have made changes to the weekly homework.  Tonight's homework was scheduled to be Learning Farm.  Students had time to work on this in class today.  Last night's Scholastic News homework is what students should complete for this evening.

Thanks, and stay warm!
