Team Mindcrafters Daily Update

Parents,

Science test. Students will have a test over Slow Changes of the Earth tomorrow. Most students did the practice test in class today, but can do it again as often as they want for extra practice.  Anyone who did not finish it should finish it at home.
Social Studies History test and Spelling test - Students took a quiz over the second half of our history today in class.  Please look for this quiz today to see how prepared your child was.  Students then took a Quizizz over both the first and second parts of our history.  Tomorrow they will take one test over all of this.  Students may continue to take these practice quizzes through Google Classroom, or the links below.  Students also took a practice test over their 20 spelling words today.  The results of this are being sent home.  Some students may be asked to have their signed and returned.

REMINDERS:
  • Friday, March 24 - Grades will be finalized in Powerschool.
  • Friday, March 24 - Last Day before Spring Break.  School resumes on Monday, April 3.

Team Mindcrafters Daily Updates 3-14-17

Parents,

Dine Out Night.  This is tonight at Chowder's N' Moor.  We had incorrectly listed it as being Thursday in yesterday's e-mail.

Pi Day Challenge.  Today (3/14) is Pi Day.  To celebrate math and have a little fun, students have been challenged to memorize as many digits in Pi as they can.  They each were given a sheet with the first two hundred digits to use to study. The top four students in each homeroom will be rewarded with a slice of one of Mrs. Pransky's homemade pie.  (see below😋)

Testing - The students will be taking their second ELA test tomorrow.  Please help your child to be well rested and well nourished on the day of the test so they can perform at their best.  It is also wonderful to send your child off to school with an encouraging word.

Snacks - In order to make testing times work, schedules have been changed this week.  One big change is our lunch time.  We eat an hour later this week (switching with 3rd grade's time) and students are bound to be hungry before lunch.  We would like to encourage students to bring a healthy snack on the non-testing days.  Cheese is provided on test days, and this should help.

Social Studies - We are halfway through our history unit and will take a quiz on Friday over the vocabulary and major events we have learned so far.  Your child is bringing home a domino game today that can be used to practice for this quiz.

Science.  In Science we are learning about slow changes of the earth, namely, erosion, weathering, and deposition.
