Team Mindcrafters Daily Update 9-29-14

Parents,

Science test - Ch. 1.  You can view and review your child's first Science test results here:  Mrs. Pokrzywa's students can see your results here. Mr. vanderstelt is allowing students to retake the test at school if they'd like to improve their grade on the test. They will have to do this during study hall Wednesday or Thursday this week.

Math Test: Place Value.  Your child took their test over Place Value last week.  Your child can review these results here. Students who would like to re-take the test to raise their grade can do so during study hall on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.

General Store "Shopping" - As part of our new PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports) system, each month 4th grade students earned a General Dollar for every 10 Class Dojo points they accumulated this month. Today a "shopping list" went home with things that can be bought with these dollars. Students can turn their dollars along with this form by Friday to receive prizes. Students may also choose to save their dollars for a larger incentive to be bought later in the year.

Letter at the new "Parent Portal." A letter about the parent portal went home today. Please read it and practice logging in both as a parent and as a student. This portal will allow students to log in to see their Math and Science book in a all in one place. More information on this will be coming soon.

Mrs. Vanderstelt - "Coffee Shop" - ex. flavored coffee, creamer, tea, hot chocolate, etc.

Student Council - Your child was given an informational sheet about student council this week.  Any student interested should pick up a permission form with more details from the office.  Students are reminded of this daily on morning announcements, and may go pick up the form at that time.

Weekly ELA Sheet Students were guided through most of this in class this week so they know the expectation.  Starting next week, students will get this on Monday, and have until Friday to complete it.  For this week, students will need to complete the "Investigation" part and take notes on the back (this will require your help!) and finish the vocabulary section.  They do not need to complete the "optional challenge".  Those who complete that will earn an "extra effort" Dojo point.
