AR Goals - Congratulations to the 18 students who surpassed their reading goals and reached 125%, 150%, or 200%.  Awards will be given out on Wednesday, including the pizza party to the three who earned over 200%.  Congrats to Jack Ch, Elizabeth, and Ava!  New goals for the fourth quarter were given today.  Goals are going to be spread out over 8 weeks, instead of 9, so that I can use the final week to give out awards.  Students will not need to read over break, but can use this week to get ahead!

Team Mindcrafters Daily Update 3-10-16

Parents,

Read-A-Thon.  We are about halfway through our Read-a-thon.  Students received a handout with a recording sheet last Friday to help them to keep track their nightly reading. Students are encouraged to gather pledges based on how much they read.  This is a fundraiser to help support WPC and the programs they promote here at school.

Virtual Field Trip.  Yesterday in Science students had the opportunity to take a virtual field trip via video chat.  We talked via a Google Hangout with two naturalists from the Metroparks of Toledo as they shared examples of river erosion as seen at Swan Creek.  It was really cool!  Ask your child about it! (See attached images)

Science Test. Students will be taking a test over "Slow Changes of the Earth" on Friday.  Miss Schnee has given the students two paper-pencil resources to use as a study guide.  One sheet is an essay question to prepare students for a question like this on the test Friday.  Both can be completed for extra class dojo points, but are not assigned homework.  Students also have a practice test to complete on Moodle by Friday which is Thursday night's homework.

Parents,

Jim "Basketball" Jones.  Your child watched a presentation today with Jim "Basketball" Jones that taught them about many important life skills - kindness, gratitude, hard work, and perseverance while enjoying some of his basketball skills.  It was really entertaining and informative!  Please ask you child about it!
