Team Mindcrafters Daily Update 2-22-17

Parents,

More parent volunteers.  We will be doing a STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) project on Monday, February 27th and Monday, March 6th from 1:30-2:30.  I will need some adults to supervise groups of 4 or 5 in building a structure out of cardboard.  It may require some cutting with an exacto knife and helping them brainstorm and develop their idea. Please contact Mr. Pransky if you're interested.

Cardboard.  Mr. Pransky is still looking for cardboard for a Science project we will be doing in a couple weeks.  In particular, he is looking for cylinder  or cone shaped cardboard pieces.  If you have some you can spare, please send it to school with your child.

Team Mindcrafters Daily Update - 2-14-17

Parents,

Reading - Reminder that we are going back to Week 4 to finish out Unit 3 this week.

Websites - In December the students began creating their own websites as a means for publishing their writing work.  Please share your child's link with family members, and encourage them to leave feedback for your child to read.  The goal is for students to know that their writing has an audience greater than just the teacher.  While we made the websites public so that they can be shared with family, they are set to NOT be searchable.  Only those with the link can find the students' sites.

Party.  Thanks to all of the families who sent in food for our party today!  Check out the Class Dojo "story" for some pictures from the party.

Science Test results

Parents,

You can view your child's Science test results at the link below.  (I also sent home a grade slip with them today.) Students did an terrific job on a challenging test with 3 essay questions.  Any student who did not earn the score they wanted may retake the test next week to raise their grade.  Students earning a "2" or less will be expected to retake it on Monday.

Valentine Party donations.  We have a few donations slots left to be filled if anyone is interested in contributing an item for the party next week.
