Reading - Due to the disruptions of 3 tests both this week and next, your child will not have a spelling list or ELA sheet. Of course nightly reading is still expected, and your child should be keeping track of his/her reading on the reading log.
Testing - One test down! Students worked really hard today, and we are very proud of their efforts.
Here are a few things you can do to help assure your child does his/her best on the test:
- Be sure that your child gets plenty of rest each night before the testing
- In the morning, be sure your child has a healthy, nourishing breakfast.
- Try to send your child off to school with a positive word encouraging him/her to try their best.
- Many parents have also sent a letter of encouragement for their child to open before the tests. (You'd be amazed at what big smiles kids will get reading these!)
- Each child is allowed and encouraged to have a water bottle at their desk to use when they are thirsty.
- Comfy clothes since the kids will be seated at the computers for long stretches of time.
