Team Mindcrafters Daily Update - 4-15-16

Parents,

It was a great week of learning here at school!  Many students are peaking at just the right time before the big state tests starting next week.  Here's the schedule for next week:

Monday: ELA Test
Wednesday: ELA Test
Friday: Math test

Here are a few things you can do to help assure your child does his/her best on the test:
  • Be sure that your child gets plenty of rest each night before the testing
  • In the morning, be sure your child has a healthy, nourishing breakfast.
  • Try to send your child off to school with a positive word encouraging him/her to try their best.
  • Many parents have also sent a letter of encouragement for their child to open before the tests. (You'd be amazed at what big smiles kids will get reading these!)
  • Each child is allowed and encouraged to have a water bottle at their desk to use when they are thirsty.
  • Comfy clothes since the kids will be seated at the computers for long stretches of time.
STAR Math.  Students should be taking home a report showing their most recent STAR Math test results.  The students have shown amazing growth this year!  Be sure to praise your child for the fruits of their hard work!

Science Test.  Students did a great job preparing for their Science test.  You can check out your child's  score here or Mrs. McNamara's/Pokrzywa's students here.

5K and 1K this Saturday - Miss Schnee and Mrs. Dressel are running in the 5K. They would love to have students run in the race too, or we would also be happy cheering them on in the 1K race afterwards.
