Team Mindcrafters Daily Update - 5/16/17

Parents,

200% Pizza Party.  Students who doubled their reading goal this quarter in AR will earn a pizza party on Tuesday, May 23.  Please contact Mrs. Dressel if you are interested in donating drinks or a healthy snack to go along with the pizza.

Bike Hike.  This is Friday!   See image below for how the helmet should fit your child.  Please also make sure your child rides his/her bike this week in order to practice.  Be sure the bike is in good working condition.  Check that brakes are working and that tires need are fully inflated.   We are looking forward to a fun day!

Toy Take Apart.  We are learning about electrical circuits in science class this week. We will do a station activity called Toy Take-Apart, during which the students will take apart simple battery-operated children's toys to learn more about how they work. If you have any toys that you can donate for this project, it would be greatly appreciated. The toys will be disassembled and will likely not be usable after the project, so please send only toys that your family does not want anymore.  Please send any old, battery-operated toys in any time this week.  If you are not able to send any toys, that's okay. Toys will be provided for those who do not bring them from home.

Instrument try outs - Last chance for anyone interested!!  Following our presentation by the sixth grade band, you should have received information about an opportunity for your child to try out some instruments that are part of band next year.  Starting tomorrow, students who completed the online permission form will have a chance to do this during the day at school.  There is no commitment to band!  Please fill out the form if you are interested:  http://awbands.com/join/
