Team Mindcrafters Daily Update 9-5-13

Parents,

Math Facts.  A key component to your child's success in math this year will be their memorization of math facts in the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.  So far many students are off to a great start!  We are using a program called Math Facts in a Flash to monitor mastery of facts.  Students can use this program to practice at home, too.  Go to Home Connect at:

Use your child's AR login to access Math Facts in a Flash.  Click the Math tab at the top.

Mastery is 40 out of 40 facts in 2 minutes.  Doing the math, that amounts to 3 seconds per problem.  Encourage your child to memorize, not count on fingers.

Here are the students who have shown mastery so far:

Addition:
Spencer, Allison, Jacob L., Justin, Quinn, Eliana K., Jeffrey, Isabelle W., Austin, Zoe, Kaitlyn, Isabella, Noah

Addition + Subtraction:
Evan, Garret, Devin,

Addition, Subtraction, & Multiplication:
Eliot, Bryce, Dalton, Brendan, Jacob C.

Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, & Division:
Abby

Way to go!
