Team Mindcrafters Daily Update 4-17-14

Parents,

Blizzard Bag #3.  Take advantage of this three day weekend to work on those blizzard bags. I'd love to see some students turn them in on Monday!

Supplies.  This is a good time to check with your child to be sure he/she has enough supplies to last through the end of the school year.  Commonly misplaced/used up items include: red marking pens, erasers, glue sticks, pencils, loose-leaf paper, and highlighters.

Bike Hike.  The 4th grade Bike Hike is a little more than a month away.  Your child will need a working, appropriately sized bike and a properly fitted bike helmet to ride along with the group.   If your child does not have a bike or helmet and you can not buy one or borrow one before that day, please also let your child's homeroom teacher know so we can find some to borrow for the day.  If your child does not know how to ride a bike, please contact your teacher so we can make arrangements to transport them for the day.  When we have nice weekends (like this one is expected to be), it is also important for your child to get out and practice riding their bike.  Its a great way to spend time together as a family, too!

OAA Letters.  Mr. Rhodes sent home a letter today about something special you can do to help your child on the days they take their OAA tests.  We would like you to write a short letter to your child with an encouraging message for them that they can open and read before beginning their test.  You'd be amazed at how much this small gesture means to your child.  I always love seeing all of the smiles as the children read these notes from you.  Please send your letter in a sealed envelope with something like "OAA letter" on the front and your child's name. We will save it to open on May 5 and May 7.

Have a great long weekend and Happy Easter!

Mrs. Dressel and Mr. Pransky
