Team Mindcrafters Daily Update 5-29-14 - AND BIKE HIKE UPDATE

Parents,

Unfortunately, we are trying hard to finish up some items before the end of the year, so some students may have a little work to do tonight.  Due to schedule conflicts, both classes are in a different spot.

Pransky's students - Final draft of Harris Burdick story is due tomorrow.
Dressel's students - Rough draft of Harris Burdick story is due tomorrow.

Also, the reward pizza party is Monday, and we are allowing students until then to reach their goals.  Many have earned them this week, and others are very close.  Some students may want to do some reading tonight to help get there.

Bike Hike:  Tomorrow!!!
  • Eat a good breakfast, and pack a nutritious sack lunch for a busy day!
  • Beverage for lunch will be provided, however, they may wish to also bring a labeled water bottle.
  • Apply sunscreen and bug spray in the morning.  You may pack bug spray to reapply, please label.
  • Dress for the weather, and wear tennis shoes.

BIKE HIKE DISMISSAL CHANGE FOR THOSE PICKING UP STUDENTS:  The new parking lot and daily dismissal this new school year will create difficulty for those picking up students and bikes tomorrow.  We are asking that parents planning to pick up their child tomorrow either come between 2:45-3:15, or at 3:40, to avoid the traffic at 3:30.  For your convenience, there will be someone stationed in the side lot (north of the school) for you to sign out your child during the 2:45-3:15 time.  If you come at 3:40, your child will be out there waiting for you with a teacher.

Below is a list of Dressel students' current plan for pick-up tomorrow (Mr. Pransky already sent his list earlier).  Please email me if there are any changes in your child's plan.  Looking forward to a great day!

Team Mindcrafters Daily Update 5-28-14

Parents,

Bike Hike:  If they haven't already, please have your child bring in his or her bike helmet tomorrow so the teachers can check if it is properly fitted.  (See image below.)  It should be two finger widths above their eye brows and the chin strap should be able to fit no more than two fingers below the chin.  The "V" of the strap should meet just below the ear.  Those that are fitted correctly when they come in tomorrow will earn a piece of candy!

Have a great night!

Mrs. Dressel and Mr. Pransky

HOMEWORK:  Besides reading, the only homework ALL week is get ready for bike hike.  Short rides, when weather permits, practice hand signals, adjust helmet correctly.

Team Mindcrafters Daily Update 5-27-14

Parents,

Today's Field Trip:  Well the weather held out, and we had a very successful trip.  We purchased 4 pounds (estimated 6 cups) of corn flour that was ground at the mill.  However, neither of us are very talented in the kitchen.  We are looking for a volunteer to make something (such as corn muffins) for the students to sample.  If you are interested, please send us an email.

Bike Hike:  Still looks to be great weather for Friday's trip too!  Please make sure that your child's bike is in working order, and he/she has an appropriate helmet.  We are asking students to bring in their helmets on Thursday so that we can check them, and help make any needed adjustments.  Students riding the bus home Thursday after school, and Friday morning are welcome to leave their helmets here.

Have a great night!

Mrs. Dressel and Mr. Pransky
