Team Mindcrafters Daily Update 5-11-15

Parents,

Just a reminder that we have lots of permission slips that need to be turned in at this time of year. Please review the reminders below to be sure your child has returned them all.

Culture project. Your child should now have a due date for their culture project. (See Mrs. Vanderstelt's e-mail). Most will present this week.

Band "Fitting" tryout. Today, the students watched the 6th grade band perform at the high school and learned about some of the instruments that they might be able to play if they would like to join band. Some options are: flute, clarinet, trumpet, saxophone, percussion, trombone, and baritone. The brown tryout form should be signed and returned as soon possible if your child is interested in band. Mr. Giffin, the 6th grade band teacher, will be here tomorrow and Wednesday for any students who have this turned in.

Bike Hike permission slip. A green Bike Hike letter and permission slip went home today. Please read it carefully, fill out how your child will get home, sign and return.

Fun Fest. For those of you planning to volunteer for Fun Fest, please look at the schedule that was sent home today. Most of the 4th grade activities are in the afternoon so that would be the best time to be able to see your child and help with the various activities. If you have not signed the waiver for the inflatables for your child, that is included as well.

Reminders:
  • Sign and return band "fitting" tryout slip by Wednesday 5/13
  • Sign and return Bike Hike permission slip
  • Sign and return bike hike expectations letter
  • Fun Fest volunteer form (or at least waiver signed at bottom)
  • Return or purchase spring pictures

Happy May!  Hopefully the warm weather is here to stay!!  At least the next week looks great.

Spring Pictures - Spring pictures were delivered today, and either went home or will on Monday.  You may purchase all (or some) of these pictures, or return them to school.

Bike Hike letter - A letter was sent home today regarding end of the year expectations.  This letter needs to be signed and returned by both parents and students.  A copy is attached if needed.

Have a great weekend, don't forget to remind your child to read:)
