I hope everyone is staying safe and warm on this Groundhog Day. Please be careful if you are required to be out on the roads today.
This week we will begin a month long unit covering fractions. We will begin by learning concepts of equivalent (equal) fractions. Students can watch the videos below to learn how to use area models to better understand fractions.
I have attached a practice packet that students can complete after watching these videos. I'm not assigning this as official "homework", but students can earn extra effort Class Dojo points for completing them and will get a big head start on understanding these concepts when we cover them in class.
